Production

The documentary was produced by LightBox in a co-production with Em Relevo, and directed by Luís Ismael. The cast included Rui Spranger, Carlos Sebastião, Bel Viana, Filipe Amorim, Anabela Nóbrega, João Pamplona, Ângela Marques, Pedro Ferreira, Alfredo Pinto, Pedro Damião and Alexandre Martins.

The contemporary setting was recreated through the sites chosen for the filming in Portugal, the costumes and the depiction of the many hundreds of extras who took part, as well as the complex historical research and the advanced visual effects to portray the city of Lisbon in the early 16^th century.
